Warranty for Parnose Watches

At PARNOSE, we meticulously craft each watch using the finest components available, constantly improving our standards to provide the highest level of quality. Parnose watches are designed to withstand long periods of time, provided they are subjected to normal use.

Warranty Period

PARNOSE provides a 24-month warranty covering manufacturing defects or faults that are not the result of improper use.

What the Warranty Covers

Our warranty covers manufacturing defects and issues related to the accuracy and proper functioning of the watch movement. During this period, all repair costs will be covered by PARNOSE, provided that, upon inspection, the damages are found not to have been caused by external events, as outlined below.

For watches with mechanical movements (non-battery operated), the main defect that may arise is an abnormal deviation in accuracy (hour/minute/second hands moving significantly slower or faster than the normal deviation for that movement). In such cases, repair costs will be covered by PARNOSE.

In the case of quartz watches, which are operated by a small internal computer, issues are rare unless caused by external actions. It is recommended to ensure careful sealing of the case when replacing the battery, as any water ingress can lead to a short circuit.

PARNOSE will always conduct free evaluations of your watch. If, after inspection, it is determined that the watch was used under normal conditions, we will cover the repair costs. If the damage was caused by external factors, we can provide an estimated repair cost, which the customer is free to accept or decline.

What Is Not Covered by the Warranty

Please note that "external damages" to the watch are not covered under our warranty. These can include damages caused by:

  • sports activities
  • improper handling, such as accidental damages from dropping or hitting the watch
  • improper transportation, wearing, or storage
  • servicing and repairs at non-certified watch repair centers
  • damages resulting from repairs/opening of the watch by third parties
  • failure to follow our guidelines for proper use
  • exposure to destructive factors such as water, dust, steam, or chemicals that may interact with the watch materials, as well as electromagnetic fields
  • extended or immediate exposure to temperatures outside the recommended operating range of 5°C to 35°C
  • adjusting the date between 9:00 PM and 2:00 AM, during which time the internal date-change function is active; interference during this period may disrupt or damage the watch movement

These cases may result in functional, structural, or aesthetic deficiencies in your watch, such as abrasions, discoloration, physical damage, scratches, cracks, or weakening of water resistance seals.

Functional, aesthetic, structural, or other defects caused by third-party interactions void the warranty. We strongly recommend taking your watch to trusted professional service centers for repairs, battery replacements, or inspections, where any damages from their services are covered by their own warranty policies.

Additionally, the warranty does not cover:

  • battery life;
  • normal wear and aging (e.g., scratched crystal; discoloration or wear on non-metal bands and chains, such as leather, textile, rubber; peeling of plating);
  • gradual wear on seals that ensure proper water resistance; we generally recommend that a watch be inspected and serviced every 6 to 12 months. Failure to do so may weaken seals, and any resulting water damage to the watch or movement will not be covered by PARNOSE;
  • any damage to any part of the watch caused by abnormal/abusive use, lack of care, negligence, accidents (impacts, crushing, broken crystal, etc.), improper use of the watch, or failure to follow the usage instructions provided by PARNOSE.

Water Resistance

The water resistance of our watches is currently tested only in controlled laboratory settings by the manufacturers, without aggressive movements that may exceed the tested pressure limits. PARNOSE does not perform personal water resistance testing, but we take all possible measures to maintain the factory water resistance specifications for our watch cases.

However, most activities involving water involve frequent hand movements and environmental changes. These deviations from the conditions under which the watch was evaluated for water resistance can potentially cause water to penetrate the seals and mechanisms intended for water resistance.

Water resistance cannot be permanently guaranteed. It can be affected by aging of the seals, shocks to the watch crown or case back, or improper screwing of the case back. We recommend that you have your watch’s water resistance checked by an authorized, reliable service center every 12 months at the latest.

For watches with a screw-down crown (and even others), never engage the time/date setting functions while the watch is underwater. The crown must always be fully screwed in before submersion in water; otherwise, improper use may result in damages that are not covered by the warranty.

Due to varying levels of water resistance from model to model, it is important to consider that each watch is designed for different activities. Using the SeikoJust and CasiOak watch lines as examples (but not limited to them, these general guidelines also apply to new collections):

SeikoJust is considered a model for everyday use under normal conditions, with lower water resistance compared to the CasiOak line.

CasiOak, based on the G-Shock GA-2100 mechanism, comes from the factory with higher intrinsic water resistance of 200m, making it suitable for diving or use in more demanding environments.

General recommendations based on water resistance levels:

  • 50m – The watch is resistant to rain, accidental splashes, but is not recommended for swimming or full submersion in water.
  • 100m – Includes all the above plus can be used for swimming under normal conditions, at shallow depths, and without heavy impacts or rough movements. Keep in mind that exposure to chemicals (such as chlorine and others commonly found in pools) may degrade the water resistance.
  • 200m – All the above, plus resistance to more demanding situations, such as swimming at greater depths. Even in this case, chemicals or high impacts can degrade the water resistance.

Warranty Terms and Conditions

In the event of any issues, the customer is requested to contact us exclusively by email or phone, as provided on the contact page. Only after receiving a written response from us via email, detailing the process for sending the watch for warranty service, should the customer send the watch to PARNOSE at the address specified in the email. Watches sent to any address without prior contact with PARNOSE will be returned to the sender at their own expense.

Watches (and any other products that PARNOSE may sell) must be sent to us with all original accessories and must comply with the usage conditions outlined above in order to benefit from warranty service at no cost.

Only after receiving and evaluating the entire watch will PARNOSE be able to provide a verdict regarding the resolution of the issue, and whether it has or has not been used in a proper manner or in a way that could prevent repair without cost or even lead to the complete cancellation of the warranty. This will be communicated via email by PARNOSE directly to the customer involved.

Depending on the warranty issues that may arise, PARNOSE cannot provide an exact resolution time due to the complexity of our watches: some components may not be in stock, may no longer be available, or may need to be ordered, etc. In the most prolonged case for resolution—ordering new parts—the resolution time may range from 4 to 12 weeks, but not exclusively, depending on the difficulty of acquiring the necessary parts.

If the customer does not agree with the proposed cost-effective solutions, PARNOSE may withdraw from the process of bringing the goods into compliance at any time; an example of such a case could be when the method of replacing or repairing parts "suggested by the customer" would incur costs that are disproportionately higher compared to other resolution solutions offered by PARNOSE, considering the watch’s value at the time of the warranty claim, had the current issue not existed.

For routine operations, such as battery changes for non-mechanical watches or bracelet adjustments, during the entire warranty period, the customer's cost will consist exclusively of the shipping fees to and from PARNOSE.
